Arya Yuva Mandal

Arya Yuva Mandal (AYM) is a special group within DAV Sanskriti School comprised of youth, ages thirteen and older. The mission of the group is to provide our older students with an avenue to express their views and an opportunity to explore their talents and interests and interact closely with their peers, while reaffirming the Arya Sanskars and values imbibed at DAV Sanskriti School and remaining an integral part of the larger Arya Samaj family. The group meets at the house of a host student on one Sunday of every month in the evening. AYM Advisors comprising of parents oversee all activities of the members.

Properly supervised and well organized social events enable AYM members to have fun, make friends, raise funds for cherished causes and hone their organizational, management and leadership skills. Regularly scheduled Discussion Sessions allow AYM members to learn more about topics of interest from specially invited adult experts, who provide facts and information. AYM members then discuss the issues from their individual perspective in a frank and open forum. AYM members also participate in various cultural programs, which boosts their appreciation of Indian customs and celebrations and enhances their understanding of Vedic culture and philosophy.

Some of the activities of AYM include a car wash at ASGH; active involvement in the Ahimsa Divas in cooperation with Mahatma Gandhi Library, an over night Lock-in or slumber party; support of Muscular Dystrophy Association through fund raisers, Food Collection for Food Bank and active participation in cultural programs at Arya Samaj throughout the year.
