Yagya-Vatika

In 2001, Arya Samaj constructed a special Yagya Vatika behind the main temple building to provide a place where fellow Hindus could perform Havan outdoors in communion with nature.

The Yagya-Vatika is a serene and peaceful oasis within the Arya Samaj Greater Houston temple complex. The landscaping and layout are conducive for the performance of havans and other auspicious ceremonies. The Yagya-Shala is an elevated 18’ by 18’ granite platform with a capacity of almost 50 people, surrounded by a pretty paved patio and green lawn, outlined with flowering plants and shrubs. The entire area can accommodate seating for up to 250 guests around the platform.

Weather permitting, the Yagya Vatika is used by DAV Sanskriti School students to perform havan every Sunday and provides an appropriate setting for the start of the School day. The main Arya Samaj temple building has kitchen and dining facilities for the convenience of the yajmans and their guests. The resident priest and Vedic scholar, Acharya Suryanarayan Nanda is available to conduct ceremonies by prior appointment.
